UPDATE: Teaching, Recording, Performances…EMA Nomination!!!
April 28, 2018
Oh Haaiii! It’s been a while since I last gave you an update! Life has been so busy with such vastly different musical endeavours, and I want to take a minute to share some of that with you. I have been recording demos, songwriting, performing and teaching my butt off these days, which has been SO much fun but has also meant learning to balance all of the things...and can also sometimes mean turning into a ghost online, ha. So please forgive me!
As some of you may know, October 2017, I decided to open my home-music studio doors welcoming a full schedule of new Voice, Piano & Songwriting students. Being a self-employed Music Instructor & Musician has been an extremely gratifying and fulfilling adventure so far... but also slightly terrifying lol. I have grown in so many ways already and I am incredibly excited for what the future holds (some exciting new program announcements coming soon)! Students - I’m so proud of all of you and I can’t wait to see where you go with your talents and skills!! Lessons will still continue throughout the summer; for those of you still looking to get a slot, I have a few openings Wednesdays and Thursdays. Contact me directly for more info.
Throughout the past few months, I have had a blast performing for so many of you at various functions; private anniversary parties, building parties at Boardwalk, Bonnyville’s Lyle Victor Albert Centre Theatre Fundraisers, The Storytellers concert with Clayton Bellamy & The Congregation! I have also been recording songwriting demos for various clients, students and of course starting on some new originals of my own. I've been working on recording acoustic demos of some of my newest originals and I'm hoping to release that this fall!
ALSO!!! THIS MONTH, my single “Sweetest Things” was nominated for the R&B/Soul Recording of the year with the EMA’s (Edmonton Music Awards)... (Saayyy whaaaaaaat)!!! I was nominated alongside some ridiculously talented musicians (many of which I am quite a HUGE fan of!!), so that was an incredible honour. The awards will be held June 28, 2018 at the Winspear Centre (tix avail online), fingers crossed! Huuuge thank you to Justin “Dunna” McDonough for his hard work on this album (Love Louder), I could not have done it without you!
I’m so incredibly grateful that I get to pay my bills doing THIS. Music’ing. Of all of the sorts. I’m looking forward to all of the upcoming weddings and events this spring/summer. More info and posts coming soon (and more frequently, I promise)!!!! Please feel free to follow me on all all of the socials:
